I stole my husband's phone from him.
Several weeks ago we went to the AT&T store to get new phones. They only had one in stock of the one I REALLY wanted, which was an update of my phone, the walkman phone...the Sony w550i:
The new one is really nice, sleek. You can bump up your memory with a card to put more songs/pictures on it...take pictures in B&W. They have it in white, but you can't get the white one anywhere but online (or apparently Best Buy). It's quite depressing, actually...but, still, it's nice in black, too, see:
So, anyway, the store only had one. Erik wanted it...so I didn't fight, and let him have it. I bought the Samsun SYNC. I took it back two days later. HATED it. I went back to my old version of the walkman.
Last night I switched phones with Erik. He's been pestering me for the past couple of weeks knowing I wanted it...so last night I did it. I stole his phone.
BAD wife.
He says he'll get a razr in the spring, which is what he really wanted anyway (not sure why he didn't get one then). He doesn't like the walkman so much because it doesn't come with a custom case...and he LOVES the custom cases. So, that's why he wants the razr. Silly boy :P

The....WHAT-cracker???
So, I had my very first "I'm blogging this" moment shared with my DH - he did, after all, just see it for the first time a couple of days ago. We had the appropriate 'discussion' about it last night. I was given permission to complain about how little he helps me (gee, thanks, doll - love ya)...and so, thus, the blog has been opened between us.
So the "I'm blogging this" moment happened not to him...or with one of my kids...it was ALL me...and it had my DH rolling on the floor, practically. I laughed so hard I cried...and it was ALL.MY.FAULT.
*****
Our tree is up and decorated. Sitting proudly on the upper branches, taking up much room is a very heavy Nutcracker ornament that is, in fact, a music box. And an ornament. Yeah, excessive...but still pretty neat.
So, I pull it off the tree and ask DH who gave it to us, because damned if I can remember. He can't either. We continue our discussion and get to the part where we talk about the Butler Ballet performing the Nutcracker at Cloew's. I say that I'm not too eager to see it, I'd already seen it and had been able to tell it was a college performance (Damn, I can be harsh sometimes).
I said, "But I saw it live. Up until we went on the field trip with Denver's first grade class I'd never seen the Buttcracker live..."
UMMMM....Say WHAT?!?!
YEah...meant to say "Nutcracker Ballet"....sooo not how it came out. So I hang my head in shame and blog myself.

The Newest Obsession...
Molly has obsessions. They come and go, only return again and be greeted like a long lost lover (you'll see I'm not kidding).
Her first notable obsession was the Backyardigans...but not JUST the show. We're talking down and dirty love with the DVD case. She carried it EVERYWHERE. Took it to bed with her. It got to the point where we had to sneak the cases away because she'd played with them so much the actual title pages were ripped and worn - and in some cases the plastic of the case was half ripped off. We now have NO DVD cases of kids shows...all kids shows are on a spindle and locked away for their own safety.
From there we moved onto cars. She had toy cars and she would line them up in a perfect little line and carry them everywhere. This was a very short lived obsession...
Because she found her Dora doll. Oh, Dora was BIG. Dora was carried EVERYWHERE. Dora was chewed on as much as Molly's fingers. Dora was LIFE.
Then she learned the word "STAR". Dora still had a place...but STAR was the shiznit. STARS can be seen EVERYWHERE. On common commercials, on signs, and on fabrics that Mommy finds at the fabric stores.
For some reason stars faded...but so did Molly. She became very introverted again and we lost our little girl for a while (this happens from time to time...she gets vibrant and full of life...then disappears into her own little world).
Now it's Christmas. And a whole new world has begun. We now have TWO simultaneous obsessions...
The first is STARS! They have returned! With Christmas in the air, stars can REALLY be seen everywhere. There's one on top of our tree...ornaments have stars. She has picked an ornament with a star that she carried with her to daycare today. She KISSES the star on the ornament regularly! STars are once again the shiznit...
But the other obsession...well...
I bought 'new' shoes at the resale shop the other day. They are shoes I've wanted to buy from Target since last year, but never did due to cost, etc. So, when I saw them at resale in her size I grabbed them.
SHE WONT TAKE THEM OFF!! If I take them off she throws a MASSIVE fit. Even if I explain that it's just to change clothes/diaper, whatever. If I take them off and leave them on the table...she PUTS THEM ON.
She goes to bed with them. Yes. I let her wear them to bed...you try putting her in bed without them!
Tomorrow we discuss Molly's hidden intelligence...

How many times have I done this?
I've been a mom for how many years? I've faced how many illnesses? I myself was a sickly-ish child with allergies out the arse (Seriously - Milk, Corn AND Wheat? Did God hate me??)...
So why is it I get paralyzed with fear when I find THIS:
(clickie for better view of hideousness)
Seriously...I took off Molly's PJ's to prep for bath and rash all over! Instead of calmly saying, "It's likely roseola"...I freak and call DH. "OMG! There's a HIDEOUS rash on Molly! WTF?!?!"
DH ever so calmly reassures me (I love that I'm calm when he's flipping and vice-versa) that it explains the fevers of the past couple of nights...and was probably roseola...and he'd had it when he was a kid...and he had to get back to work.
*thunk*
Yeah. I have called the pediatrician. I'm waiting on a nurse call-back.
I have also called the pulmonologist's CF nurse because our worries have been realized...K is coughing. Wet, phlegmy, nasty cough (which I think is good...means she's bringing it up)...so I have to apprise them of the situation...as well as the Molly situation. *Sigh*
I HATE WINTER.
Oh, I better call the chiro and cancel.

The Plunger Debate
This occured yesterday...
**
DH: *taking mitt out of trash* Why is this here?
Me: It was on the plunger.
DH: We can clean it up, sani-
Me: It was on the PLUNGER. You know, the poop-sucker?
DH: You have cleaned up poop and vomit and all sorts of things...can't we..
Me: It's an exfoliating mitt...it's been on poop-encrusted rubber poop sucker....No, it stays in the trash.
**
I'm sorry. I'll clean poopy diapers. I'll clean vomit. But I will not exfoliate my skin with something that has been sitting on a plunger. I must draw the line somewhere...right?
